Celebrating cult film Clueless, 25 years on.

Celebrating cult film Clueless, 25 years on.

If you grew up in the 90’s, Clueless (starring Alicia Silverstone) is probably the earliest fashion movie memory you have.  This year marks 25 years since the movie made it onto the big screen, and Clueless still resonates in the world of fashion.

Our new 90’s collection takes inspiration from this cult film, when grunge was still in its heyday. Admit it, you were impressed with Cher’s huge revolving wardrobe and computer program that helped her put outfits together!

Cher Horowitz

Fashion Quote: “So OK, I don’t want to be a traitor to my generation and all, but I don’t get how guys dress today.  I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair (ewww!) and cover it up with a backwards cap, and like, we’re expected to swoon?  I don’t think so.”

Cher has colour coordination down to a science. We’ve injected the yellow from her famous yellow plaid suit into our sunflower and smiley face prints, and our layered singlet look was inspired by her activewear.  And of course it wouldn't be a true 90's representation without scrunchies!

Tai Frasier

Fashion Quote: “Cher, what should I do with this, should I tie it around, or put it over my shoulders?”

We’ve taken inspiration from Tai’s cropped tees with our shorter length singlets, designed to be layered.

Murray Duvall

Fashion Quote: “Because I’m keeping it real.”

Murray’s bold, colourful style is the best of nineties streetwear which we’ve made relevant with our boys tees featured below.

Travis Birkenstock
Fashion Quote: “I’m sorry about your shoes . . . the red ones with the strappy thing.”

Our sweatshorts commemorate Travis’s baggy, skater dude look.  So grungey, SO 90’s.

Ohhh I loved this movie growing up!! Even though I didn’t get most of the sexual innuendos at the time (I was only 9 when it came out) it’s such a classic. Love that you’ve brought back so many cool styles!
